VGA To HDTV Cable

Most of HDTV now has VGA ports. VGA cables also called monitor cables are male to male cables, which allows port to port connection. Both ends of a VGA cable have 3-row 15-pin plugs.

In order for you to connect via VGA port just follow the following steps.

First, connect one end of the VGA cable to your PC or laptop’s VGA port. Now attach the other end of the VGA cable to the VGA port of your HDTV. Now turn on the television. Your HDTV shall automatically detect the setting or connection. If it does not, configure the connection by following these steps: right click on desktop, select properties, click settings, then click the number 2, check “extend my desktop” click apply then click ok. Another way of establishing the connection between your PC and laptop to the TV is by: right click on the desktop, point to graphic options, point the cursor to output then select extend or clone. By clicking clone you make your desktop exactly the same as to those shown on the screen. Now that is process is done, your monitor will refresh, it is often characterized by a blink or your monitor may go blank on a matter of seconds. Your HDTV shall have the background of your desktop.

Second is via component video cable. In connecting via component video cable you just need a “VGA to Component video cable.” First connect the VGA cable on the laptop or PC, next is to plug the 3 RCA plugs unto the RCA jacks. Next is turning on the computer; once that this is done, your HDTV shall automatically detect the connection. In some cases you also need to configure the connection on your TV. If your TV has no automatic connection detection, use your remote to set the video input, whether via Computer, VGA, RGB, or S-Video. Then configure the connection of your PC or laptop by following the steps that was given on the fist step.

Third is via S-video cable, connecting S-video are the same as those connection options mentioned above. All you need is to plug in the S-video cable in S-video port of your PC or laptop to the port of the HDTV. Then follow the instructions given on the first and second connection option.
