Convert VGA To Component

Although televisions and TV sets looks almost the same except of their sizes, they are not the same… Computer runs on VGA while televisions runs on high-band component input, also known as Y-Pb-Pr. These two devices would not come together until “VGA to Component video converter” was introduced.
Now this converter becomes so popular to those who want to hook up their PC or laptop to a television. Many people resort to buying new TV with VGA compatibility, but with this device, you will be able to connect your PC or laptop with TV-supporting video cards to a TV with ease.

Below are the steps to follow on how you are going to connect your PC or laptop to a component RCA. Things that you need: 1 male to male cable, 1 VGA to Component video cable and last, yet very important thing, a VGA to Component Converter.”

First step is to connect one end of the VGA cable to the port of your PC or laptop, then connect the other end of the cable to the port of the converter. Second, is to connect the component cables on the jacks of your converter. Be sure to connect the three cables on their respective color for identification purposes. Jamming these colors would make your video output poor or blurred. Then place the other ends of the cable to the respective jacks. Place the Y-component to the color green, Pb to the color blue, while Pr is to color red. Now the next step is to turn on the television. After turning it on, your PC or laptop will refresh, don’t worry if your screen goes blank for a few second. It’s normal while your computer detects the new monitor. Now set up the connection. Right click on the desktop, point to graphic options, point the cursor to output. Select dual clone, if you want to have same display and extend if you want the new monitor to be an extension of your desktop. If these options don’t come to your PC or laptop, follow the next steps. Right click on the desktop, click on properties, select settings, then click number 2, then check “extend my desktop.” After these steps click on apply then click OK.

Another way of configuring the setting is via Display options. You can access this only after you have installed the driver of your video card. This comes with the video card when you bought it. All you need to do is to click on the icon on the tray. Probably you have NVDIA or Intel, for these are the common video cards. Click on the Nview icon on the tray. A dialog box will appear. Select desktop management, click display wizard, and then select clone then click next; set the resolution, after that click next. Then click finish.
